A million miles away.
Today we enjoyed the sunshine and the warm swimming pool. Well, the kids enjoyed the warm pool. I enjoyed the outlet mall. And after a bit of outlet shopping, I have come to the realization that I have no excitement left in my life. Because it only took one little outlet mall to have a Gap Kids, Gymboree, Oshkosh and a LIMITED TOO, yes I said a LIMITED TOO outlet, to make me grin from ear to ear. It was like the hitting the jackpot in children’s retail. I beelined right past the Coach Store. And the Banana Republic. And the Le Crueset. Because I had LIMITED TOO in my sights. And I had TOO bucks! A better shopping experience there never was.
Of course, there was also plenty of time for this.
As soon as his eyes open in the morning, he is asking to go swimming. He would swim all day, every day. Which is fine, if that is what he wants to do. But some of us do like to go out and shop. And eat.
And of course, we spent time sitting on the porch. In rocking chairs. Because this is the South, and that’s just what you do here. Besides eating. And shopping.
Somehow, nothing feels like vacation more than rocking the time away in a rocking chair.
It was a little windy, but we still made time to go for a walk at my most favorite place in the world.

With my most favorite people in the world.
There is just something about the beach. I see the ocean and my lungs breathe deeper, my head thinks clearer, and my heart smiles wider. It makes our house stuck in the middle of the Illinois prairie seem a million miles away. It makes your worries and troubles seem small. It makes the ground you are standing on seem smaller. And it makes my heart feel peaceful. Peaceful and free. And happy.
I think it does that for my kids too.

How cute they all look at the beach in the sun enjoying the water!
Glad mom got some excitement today as well. Nothing like a little shopping trip to the Limited 2 with 3 little girls in mind, to put a smile on a mom’s face! (Been there done that!)
Sure wish I was there!

Oh, I am just green with envy. My vacay was spent in the snowy slush of YOUR hometown, while where I really wanted to go was someplace warm. Oh well, maybe next year.
Glad you are all having fun. The kids look so happy!

I was on the beach today, also looking out at the Atlantic - just from the other side! I love to be beside the sea so much. Sounds and looks like a wonderful holiday - and shopping too:). Enjoy.

GORGEOUS pictures, Lisa. Where are you? I’ve gotta go back in your archive to see what I’ve missed. In the meantime have fun at the beach. And eating. And shopping, too

So jealous. Looks beautiful! But, just so you know, us Chicago area people are enjoying a balmy 38 degrees right now. Jealous?
