Are we there yet?
So we headed off today for our Spring Break ‘08 trip.
We are driving. Because flying for me is not a vacation. It is cause for an anxiety attack.
About three and a half hours from home we made our first stop. Because when you are driving right by Purdue University, you have to stop in for a Boilermaker Pete Burger at the Triple XXX. It’s the law. You just have to do it. Or you can get pancakes, eggs and a chocolate shake like my daughter did. Whatever works.
Those are some good burgers they got there at the ol’ Triple XXX.
Don’t worry, despite the name, they don’t have any strippers.
We are on a family vacation after all.
We drove about six more hours and I think I answered the question “Are we there yet?” at least 426 times. We watched three movies and fought endlessly about who would sit where and who was kicking the back of whose seat. K gets really snippy when you kick the back of his seat.
Tonight, we are in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Some of us are happy.
Some of us are not.
But mostly, we’re all just tired.
Tomorrow it’s on to our final destination.
Any guesses where we are going to end up?

I love surprises and road trips, I’ll wait for the answer. Next time we’re even close we’ll stop at the Triple XXX, sounds great.

Hmmm…I’m going to go with Myrtle Beach…
I’ll have to keep that Triple XXX in mind the next to we road trip it to the in-laws in Joliet…

UgH! So jealous if you are really going where I think you are going. We went to Springfield, Illinois! Whoo-hoo. You can check out our pictures at my blog and I bet we had as much fun as you….NOT! But we tried.
