I am so good at braving the elements, I may have a future as a mail carrier.

Spring sports season is in full swing around here.  I am wore out.  And the seasons are only half over.
Since the end of March, I have been rained on, hailed on, frozen, windburned, sunburned, sweaty, and snowed upon.  I have faced the elements out here on the prairie, interpeeps.
And still, week after week, I go.  Out to […]

“Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.” -vince lombardi

Somebody had a rough practice today.
And that somebody is starting to realize that the sport he loves is a lot of work. And he has a lot to learn.
Today, the coach was “bossing me around too much.”
I think that’s why it is called practice.
But when you are six, that is still a hard thing to understand.
    It’s […]

    A day in the life.

First, start the day with a flip.

    Then a bit of coloring.

Take a break from all the coloring when your hand gets tired.

And set up your kitchen in the garage.  Work very hard washing all those dishes.

And then enjoy a little time in the sandbox.

Patiently wait all day, for your siblings to come home from school.  […]

If there was a cuter little gymnast there, I sure didn’t see one.

Today was Gracie’s first gymnastics class.

Except for preschool, she has never done any type of class or activity on her own.

Sure, she has been carted around to countless swim meets, soccer games, baseball games, Tae Kwon Do practices, hockey practices, and horseback riding lessons.  But it was never for her.  She was always just the […]

    I blinked.

And you are not a baby anymore.
You are four years old today.

How did we go from this?

    To this?
    It doesn’t seem possible.

    You are my baby.
You are the first person that makes me smile every morning.  You make me happy.  You love me and I love you.  You are a smart little girl.  You are beautiful.  You […]

    You.

    You are six today.
You are smart and funny and kind and naughty and stubborn and crazy and fun and You are the coolest little dude I know.

You couldn’t wait for today to come.
    I could.

You blew those candles out tonight, so proud of yourself, and so proud to finally be six.
And when I tucked you in […]

    Dear Me…

I am totally stealing a great idea from Stie’s blog that I’ve been eyeing for awhile now.  The idea is simple…write a letter to you during a time in the past telling yourself all the things you wish you would have known back then.
Dear Me in June of 1992,
You are about to graduate from high […]

    It’s True…A Mother’s Work is Never Done

I am posting a video today that I saw on Jen’s blog. I had to share it with you because I thought it was brilliant!
Hope you find it as funny as I did.

    Letting Go Is Hard

I think the hardest part about sending the kids off to school this week has been realizing that I just don’t know what they are doing all day long. It really takes some getting used too, and it is something I struggle with every time a new school year rolls around. Even more so this […]

My Name is Lisa And I Follow School Buses.

School started this week for us. Fiona (9) and Choppy (8) started on Monday. The school district here does a soft start for the kindergartners (yes I spell-checked and it’s right, even though it looks wrong!), so half of the kindergarten classes started on Tuesday and the other half on Wednesday. Taco (5) was in […]
