If I like her shoes, I may even try her hair pieces.
I have been inspired by the fashion.
Except I have no where to go to wear all the fashion. Lest you forget I live in a town which proudly hosts a Turkey Testical Festival each year.
None the less, I found these. I might buy them. And I might not. I have nothing to go with them, but I think they are cute.

I enjoy the fact that they are sort of a wedge/platform heel, but not really a very thick wedge. Just a nice small wedge.
Because I have issues when it comes to wearing heels. I never do it. Because I feel like they make me too tall. I mean, if you’re Gabrielle Reece you can pull off tall. But if you are like me, you have to be more concerned with looking like Janet Reno. Which would be tall and frumpy.
So I have had a happy little existence with my casual, flat shoes. And the occasional clog or boot with my jeans. Because a clog is not really a heel, in my opinion. And I love boots, so they don’t count. Not that that really makes any sense. But it does to me.
I also wear Nikes. And New Balance. And Ecco. And Keen. I like comfortable shoes.
I have ordered some Reef flip flops for myself. Because they seem to be what all the cool bloggers are wearing these days.

These are my favorite Eccos. I have them in a few colors. They are kind of my signature look, if you will. Like Jackie O. had the sunglasses and pillbox hat, I have the Eccos. It’s really a close contest in terms of who has more style.
I actually have all of my favorite styles in a few colors. Because I like options. And if I find a pair of shoes I like, I tend to buy them in a few colors. Because I have a vast tshirt collection in many different shades of black, white, grey and brown.
Anyway.
Back to the wedge sandals. I was walking through the mall and saw them. And I liked them enough to stop and look at them. And then I saw they were from Jessica Simpson.
Whom I do not enjoy.
Because when she sings, it looks very painful. And jerky. And over exaggerated. But I can’t sing, so I am not one to judge.
But the shoes were cute.
And if the world can let Britney Spears sell perfume, when she can’t even comb her hair, well then maybe I can purchase a pair of Miss Simpsons shoes. In red. And black.
Because I need options to go with all those tshirts.

Super cute “small wedges”. I am also tall, and wearing heels makes me feel like a lummox.
Oh my, do you actually go to the Turkey Testicle festival each year?

I’m a comfortable shoe gal myself. It hit me when I turned 37 — why am I wearing uncomfortable shoes? I tend to spend whatever in order to get cute shoes that are comfy. I love Keen’s, too. Have you tried Privo (made by Clark’s)? I really love them. One pair I have in several colors, just like my favorite blogger!

Another comment — actually a question — how do those ecco’s run? I just went to the Nordstrom website, and I see that I am between two sizes . . . order up or down? Thanks!

I’m not much of a sandal or flip flop girl, but I LOVE those Eccos! I need to google those and find out who sells them. They are adorable! I hope they come in pink.

I, too, was intrigued by the number of people who were wedge flip flop fans. I don’t own one pair of flip flops. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I do love those Jessica Simpson ones, as much as I dislike her personally.

Oh, those Eccos are sooo cute! I have shoes very similar to those but don’t look nearly as comfy. I’m with you on the heel thing. All the way.

Hi take 90,
I have done the deed. Its not very pretty. Infact a total snoozathon. Just EXACTLY like gone with the wind, only worse. My mother was named after scarlett os sister in the movie. (3 degrees of separation, you know) so we are like relatives of the Oharas?? Is that how that works?
Anyhoo. to the dirty clothes covered in misc paint and stain. Its a dreadful existence over here on the coast. I need a makeover intervention. You and all this silly talk about fashion-FASHION-calgon, take me away…
ever faithful-

At last I find out that you’re in Huntly. I’m in Arlington Heights.
And I’m all about comfort when it comes to my shoes. Which doesn’t make me fit in all that well with the other Montessori moms. But whatever. ![]()

I am with you about Jessica Simpson. Love the shoes, can’t abide her. I refuse to buy anything with her name on it no matter how cute the style. I am a fan of the flip-flop also. I have a lot of them, unfortunately I don’t get to wear most of them since my daughter is the same shoe size and steals them. I am totally digging the Eccos and must find me a pair too. (I too live in the northwest suburbs dangerously near Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack)

The lovely red ones would go well with my self portrait on my blog. But beware, it is frightening. You could never look like Janet Reno, you are beautiful, sun-kissed and young. So there. We could scrape Jessica’s name off of the shoes.

Turkey testical festival huh? Now that would be worth the drive just to see the reaction of the newly crowned Turkey Testical Queen.
Really like the red sandals, but I’m with you on the Jessica Simpson thing. She ranks right up there with Tom Cruise in my book.
Anywho, great blog. Glad I discovered you!

Ha haaaaaa!!!! Awesome post!!!! I hear ya on Jessica. Don’t enjoy her. Very jerky movements. Makes my neck crick. I’m all about comfy feet. I wear Borns. Hey - I think it’s well-established that I ain’t got NO fashion here.

Hi there,
I love your blog–just found it today! Hilarious! Thanks for the laughs. I adore BOTH shoes you posted. I have a pair that look like the Eccos–but they’re from Lands’ End–super-comfortable. Where do you find those cute JS flip-flops?
Thanks!
