It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like….Halloween???
I did it. I caved in. I have no excuse. The only explanation I have is that whenever I go to the store with this
It is just not me. I look at other peoples’ houses and think “Oh look, they decorated, HOW CUTE!” or “That house looks great.” But, I have never actually had the desire to scary up my own house. Never. Until today.
So it is Halloween in the Dining Room.
And Halloween in the Living Room.
It is Halloween across the whole front of my house.
And it looks even better on the inside.
Oh yes, it sure does.

My girls would KILL for some of those inflatable decorations. Kill, I tell you. I keep telling them we don’t have room in the house to store those things and my older girl finally said, “Mommy, they’re not blown up when you put them away.”

Hallowe’en has got to be my LEAST favourite day of the year. I’m just not a fan of gross and scary.
Out here in the middle of nowhere, we can at least get away with not decorating (or even buying candies for trick-or-treaters, because there simply aren’t any), but this year, with Peanut being in school, we will NOT be able to get away with not having a costume for her — which in turn means we’ll have to have one for her little sister — and we’ll also have to bring them into town so they can go to the town Hallowe’en party as well as do some door-to-door trick-or-treating. I tell ya, this is one observance that’s a pain in the butt when you live out in the middle of nowhere!!!

OMG, is he the cutest thing ever? I am impressed you’ve been able to resist him for as long as 5 years!
Anyway, your decorations look very scary indeed. Very boy-appropriate. I am sure he is thrilled. Almost as thrilled as you will be on November 1st, right?

I love the decorations! Luckily, my 5 year old hasn’t shown a big interest in the whole Halloween decor yet. We went down the Halloween isle for the first time this year as well. He mostly just checked things out. There was a candy bowl with a hand that came down on you when you reached into the bowl - he was curious about it and a bit freaked out, but he kept walking by it and watching it move. I think this year his brain is finally starting to make the connection between imagination and real life. Anyway… didn’t mean to write a book here. I do; however, LOVE the decorations!
PS> I’ve also come up with at least eight reasons that I need those bins in the laundry room! I can’t wait till we get the shelves up! =)
