I’ve been thinking about some things, related to some things.

     Actually, I haven’t been.

I just have had that title in my head forever, and I wanted to use it.  So now seemed like as good of time as any.  Because I’m always doing a lot of thinking, just not really about anything important.

So, all the giving away of the giveaways is almost over.  And I have only made it through the first column.  There were too many giveaways to keep up with.  I don’t have high hopes for winning any prizes, but it was fun to check out some new blogs.

I received a questioneer in my inbox today, and it was kind of interesting.  Sometimes it’s fun to remember things about yourself that you’d long forgotten.

And sometimes it’s fun, and an easy post to write so you can go to bed.  I call that a win-win.

Especially if the reason you want to go to bed and start all over again tomorrow is because you hit a rabbit tonight and you feel terrible.  And the sound of the thud of the rabbit and the feel of the bump under your tire just won’t leave your brain.  And you keep thinking of the poor baby rabbits just waiting in their nest for their mama to come back with food.  And they are wet and hungry.  And the mama?  She never comes back.  Because she was flattened by your tire.

And you are a little bit traumatized by the whole thing seeing as how you have never committed vehicular homicide before.

So interpeeps, just read the list.  Go enter some of the giveaways.  And don’t hold it against me.  I’m doing the best I can here.

    In my life, I have…

    skipped school.

    watched someone die.

    been to Canada.

    been to Mexico.

    been to Florida.

    been on a plane.

    been lost.

been on the opposite side of the country.

    been to Washington, DC.

    swam in the ocean.

    cried myself to sleep.

    played cops and robber.

    recently colored with crayons.

sang Karaoke.  (Alone.  On the Wii.  While nobody was home.  Pathetic, I know.)

paid for a meal with coins only.

done something I told myself I would never do.

    made prank phone calls.

laughed until some kind of beverage came out of my nose.

caught a snowflake on my tongue.

    danced in the rain.

written a letter to Santa Claus.

watched the sunrise with someone I care about.

    blown bubbles.

    gone ice-skating.

    been skinny dipping outdoors.

    gone to the movies.

    I have not…

    been kissed under the mistletoe.

    been on a blind date.

(Obviously, I’m lacking in the romance department.)

    1. Any nickname?   Lisa Pizza when I was a kid, Leese, and another one I can’t say.  Not because it’s dirty.  Just because my husband always calls me by my maiden name.  And I don’t want you to know it.

    2. Tattoo?   Never.

     3. Body Piercing?   Ears.  But I’d love to get another.  On my face.  Really.

    4. How much do you love your job?   I love being a mom and I don’t want to be anything else, I just don’t love all the work that goes along with it.

    5. Birthplace?  Chicago.

    6. Favorite vacation spot?  Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean.  Who could pick a favorite?

    7.  Ever been to Africa?    Longest travel time ever.  24 hours, door to door.

    8. Ever eaten cookies for dinner?   I don’t think so.  I’m not a cookie person.  Actually, not a baked goods person at all.

    9. Ever been on TV?   Yes, the news.

    10. Ever steal any traffic sign?  Yes.

    11. Drive a 2-door or 4-door vehicle? 4 door.

    12. Favorite salad dressing?  Poppyseed.  Or Thousand Island.  You know, the healthy and lowfat ones.  Naturally.

    13. Favorite Pie?  French Silk Pie.

    14. Favorite number?  No clue.

    15. Fave movie?  Bodyguard, My Cousin Vinny, Remember the Titans, Steel Magnolias, Notting Hill, Stepmom, My Life (with Michael Keaton), Terms of Endearment.  So many really.

    16. Favorite holiday?  Labor Day.

    17.  Favorite dessert?  Not sure.  I’m not a dessert person.

    18. Favorite food?  Mexican.  Or good old American cook out food.

    19. Favorite day of the week?  Sundays because I sleep late.  Mondays because everyone goes back to school and I like to be alone.

    20. Favorite brand of body wash?  THIS.  I LOVE IT.  I bought it at Sam’s on a whim and I may never use anything else again.

    21. Favorite toothpaste?  Doesn’t matter.

    22. Favorite smell?  It’s a tie, the smells at the beach or a clean newborn baby.

    23. What do you do to relax?   Go on vacation.

    24. How do you see yourself in 10 years?  I don’t know.  Happy I hope.  And healthy.  And skinny.  And well-dressed.  And a good wife and mom.  (With a dream house.)

    Have a good weekend, everybody.

    Where in Africa??

Seeing as I love doing karaoke but am the worst singer in the U.N.I.V.E.R.S.E. I figure we should get together soon for a sing-a-long. It’ll do wonders for your self-esteem :)

    Have a good weekend, Lisa.

You are so much fun!!! You really never skipped school, not even on “senior ditch-day”?
Why is Labor Day your favorite Holiday?

    Uh oh.

I’m concerned. About the dessert fact.
How can we still be friends?? What will we talk about?

    WAIT!
I think this is a good thing. Because I can eat YOUR dessert when we are together. And then I’ll be eating two desserts.

    Crisis averted.

I love these lists. It’s so cool to find out these little things. You should post a picture of your dream house.

Condolences to you and to the rabbit family.

    Labor Day?

So what were you on the TV news for - hit and run from the flattening of another innocent furry little creature? I need to know!

Just picture those adorable baby rabbits eating all the grass and flowers in your yard. Suddenly you’re a little glad they don’t have a mama, aren’t you? Or maybe that’s just me because I’m cold and thoughtless. Hmmm. Excellent list. May have to borrow it sometime.

I just wanted to comment. The bunny thing, if it helps you feel any better I rescued one in ‘06. My kids found a cottontail that was very young. It wouldn’t have made it though the day if we hadn’t given it food and water. They are protected here and you shouldn’t keep them as pets, so I just nursed(not physically) it back to health and released it when it was older and bigger. I think it still comes around. They eat the bird food that falls out of the feeders. And, don’t beat yourself up about the mama bunny not coming home to baby bunnies. She probably caught him cheating on her and he was running for his life! Have a great weekend, Lisa! Big Hugs!

One more thing, if you ever need any mistletoe, let me know it grows wild on some of my trees. I could send you some. Just remember, it’s poisonous. At least that’s what I’ve heard! Hugs!

Well, thank you. Thank you VERY much for sharing your trauma. Because that is the most pathetic thing I have ever read. And it’s the FIRST time I have ever covered my mouth reading someone’s blog.

    I’m so sad……. for the baby bunnies……
