Keeping up appearances.
Today I was at the Sports Authority. It’s one of my favorite stores. Not because I’m particularly sporty or anything like that. I have no idea why I like that store so much, but I shop there often and always buy way to much athletic-y type stuff.
As I was shopping there today, dreaming of all the Nikes I wanted to buy, a pair to match every t-shirt I own, I had to stop and laugh at myself.
Because me shopping at a sporting goods store, for apparel and sports stuff, is pretty funny.
There I was, with a cart full of soccer cleats, baseball shoes, a new soccer ball, workout pants for K, Crocs, various Under Armour pieces and several sweatshirts for the kids. I even stopped to browse the watches, because I love a good running watch. And they were on sale.
20% off.
Not that I, you know, actually run.
I just wear the watch and pretend.
Nothing says “I’m fit” like Nikes and a big ol’ digital watch.
No ma’am.
Just thought I’d pass that tip along.
You’re welcome.

This is so hysterical! Did you get one? A good running watch? Does that mean now if you got one, you have to run? Cause if you do, then count me out! But thanks for the tip anyway! I love a good sale!

So…. does that mean if I wear sweats all day that I’m actually about 20 lbs lighter than I am?
Sweet.

I heard a report on Fox News the other day that people that buy 3 or more pair of running shoes each year are more likely to be leaders and executives.
Whatever that means.

I saw your comment/question on By His Grace about Dermologica mosturizer….anyway, that stuff is AWESOME! I use the tinted SPF 15 as my foundation! It rocks!
I had to laugh at this post…..I can SO relate. I too often pretend that if I can just somehow dress and accessorize myself to look like a fit and athletic workout junkie, I just might become one…..unfortunatly, I usually just end up with a REALLY cute pair of running shoes and a really comfortable outfit to run errands in:-)

Now I know how to appear fit, thank you. I will run over to Sports Authority directly after work.

hee-hee. Wouldn’t it be great if just wearing work-out wear made is fit and trim?

Whew.
It’s good to know that I don’t actually need to run. Because I typically don’t run unless I’m being chased.
