What a day, what a day. It’s not even lunchtime yet and I am ready to celebrate!

First a little background. My 5 year old, Taco is going off to full day Kindergarten in less than two weeks. Since he will be gone from home for a long period of time each day, I thought it prudent that perhaps he learn the fine art of wiping his own self. Yes, I know that is a lovely picture I paint, but this is real life people. So over the summer I’ve been weening him, so to speak, from my “help” and encouraging him to take the plunge and go it alone. He started off resisting, comfortable in his own habit of bellowing “Mmmoooooooooooommmmm” for the entire neighborhood to hear. Slowly, we progressed to him attempting the act on his own, with me still needing to step in occasionally, and then today…VICTORY! The task was completed and I wasn’t even called to the scene. Hip-Hip-Hooray for Taco! I feel as though I am sending him off to kindergarten with all the little life skills a 5 year old could possibly need.

One heck of a mom, I am. That’s for sure.

But wait, joy abounds around this house today, for not only is it a milestone day for Taco, but today is THE day, and by THE day I mean the High School Musical 2 premier.
