Wide Open Spaces
What is it about wide open fields?
Fields that make you want to run and twirl and sing. It’s like a scene right out of the Sound of Music. Only we are a little more casual around here. And of course minus the nanny. And the live in help. But otherwise, the hills are alive.
It doesn’t matter if you are old.
Or young.
Human or canine.
Being in a wide open field makes your heart feel a little silly, your voice want to sing loudly and your feet want to run.
It’s a lot of fun spending a little time in a field, doing nothing except running around.
Especially when I get to be the one they are running to.

AHHH - the freedom of the open field - AAAHH CHHOOOOO! Sorry, can’t make it - allergies from all those dang pollen infested dandelions!

I feel like I hear the theme song to Little House on the Prairie. That is SO beautiful! I assume you are just entering Spring. We’re in full fledged summer now. 90 degree days - going swimming this weekend - already have a flip flop tan from sitting at the ball park - have the diaper bag stocked with sunscreen and bug repellent - kids smell like sweat…
I want to visit your neck of the woods during the winter. My brain can’t comprehend a lot of snow. Our schools were cancelled for a day earlier this year when we got 1 inch. We made a teeny little snowman and thought we were in the tundra.
Hilarious we live in the same country.

looks like the perfect day in the perfect wide open space- not too warm with just enough chill for a sweatshirt- and there’s that doggie- he’s growing and growing!

Oh, Robyn said what I was thinking: It’s like watching the opening credits to “Little House on the Prairie.”

I’m with your first commenter ~ just looking at this post makes me happy! And I don’t care what anyone says, a field of dandelions is a beautiful thing! (that’s what I tell myself because certain large areas of our yard look the same way each spring!)

What gorgeous photos! I love the vivid yellows and greens - so pretty. And what an awesome way to have a fun time outside without needing all of the toys and electronics that kids are so desperate for nowadays. ![]()
