Ye olde list.
1. So I didn’t post yesterday. Which was very weird for me. Because I like to try and post daily. My mind is quieter when I write, and I use that term loosely, here on the blog. A lot of what I write, never sees its way onto the World Wide Web, because I never hit publish. But just getting the thoughts out of my brain, makes for a calmer me. Which is good, because stressed out me? Well, she yells. A Lot.
2. The Twitter is going okay. It is weird. And a little fun. But mostly weird. I think I don’t fully understand it, is what the problem is. But I’m trying. Because I’m cool like that.
3. I don’t know why you need to know this, but I am using a new foundation. It is called Traceless by Prescriptives. I read about it on a QBBQ: Foundation Edition and I picked some up a couple of weeks ago. And I enjoy it. It is light. And sheer. And traceless. I’m a Level 3. I’ve worn it everyday since I got it, and no new pimples. Well, two pimples. But they were not makeup related.
4. I had an email earlier this week from someone wanting to know if I was a blog reader and if I was, why I don’t have a blogroll. She thought I should. And I did understand the reasons behind why she thought it was important for bloggers to have one, I really did. I used to have one. But now I don’t. I just think that it is hard to find blogs based on other peoples recommendations. My best reads are ones that I have stumbled upon, and I feel like if I click with a blog right away then I’ll go back, but that is not something that I can decided for another person. I have gone through the blogrolls of blogs I really enjoy, but I didn’t always enjoy their blogrolls. So it’s really just a personal thing. But yes, I do read blogs. And I do have a blogroll. It’s just in my head. Okay?
5. Does anyone watch Criminal Minds? The finale on Wednesday blew me away. That is what I call a cliffhanger.
6. My son is having a luau today at school. He is supposed to wear a bathing suit. To school! All day! There is no pool at the school. Can’t they have a luau in regular clothes? Or just wear a lei? I don’t get it. And am I even spelling luau right?
7. Three of my kids are having friends over tonight. I don’t know why I agreed to this. I think last week it seemed like ‘next Friday’ was forever away. But it’s today. And it is not really how I want to kick off the long weekend.
8. Speaking of long weekends, anybody have any exciting plans for Memorial Day? For us, Memorial Day is the kickoff to the summer season up at my in-laws summer place. I hope the weather cooperates, and if it does, on Saturday we will be heading North.
9. So I don’t have a nine. I just feel like my list should have ten items. So I had to add in this number nine. I guess I could tell you that I took a nap yesterday for an hour. I did. I left my child unsupervised and fell fast asleep. Why is it at two o’clock in the afternoon I can’t keep my eyes open, but at ten o’clock at night I’m wide awake and ready to go? And the unsupervised child? Well she polished off a package of bologna. So I’m confident she can take care of herself in any situation, since I know she at least won’t let herself go hungry.
10. Remember I said that I started a book this week, for the first time in a long time? I finished it today. And I plan on starting another one right away. Because reading? I love it.
And I love long weekends. I hope that you have a great one!

I don’t keep a blogroll either. I’m too lazy to maintain them properly and I think most people just check to see if they’re on it and that’s it.
Have a great weekend! We’re headed up to NY for a reunion with my in-laws and extended clan.

I related to everything you said here on this post - except about the foundation that I haven’t tried.
But I agree about the calmer mind - even if no one else cares what I write or if people send men in white jackets because of it. It is worth the almer mind.
I really don’t get Twitter and would like you to write a Twitter for Dummies post. Please, because I don’t understand what it is, or how it works, and I need someone straight up like you to tell me.
Foundation - no comment.
Blog rolls - I agree with everything you said. I don’t like other people’s blog rolls because they are their peeps. I think new bloggers just like to put them on to make them feel popular. I was and still am kinda in that stage but just the other day thougth that soon I might eliminate my blog roll off my blog because no one really cares and I subscribe. Not neccessary.
Criminal minds - don’t watch it but no season finale has been good this year.
I am so over school and it is a good thing because yesterday was the last day! And I think you spelled Luau right. Good for you.
I keep wondering how I am going to get through this summer with my kids let alone all their friends. And when your kids range in age from 5-16, it is a challenge to have peace. Ever. Good luck tonight.
Plans for the weekend involve husband not working at work and working for me. Even if the weather is crap. Enough said.
I have never met a nap I did’t like. And a little time alone never killed anyone - except a few kids who were unsupervised. But my kids know that if they ever killed themselves when they were unsupervised and I got in trouble then I would kill them.
Oh, to have time to read a book. Maybe in July when my church youth activities that I work on are over. June is going to be very hectic for me to say the least.
Happy Memorial Day! And, I missed you yesterday.

i want to try that foundation-i like the idea of no new pimples
blogrolls are funny things-my family likes to blog, but most have not a clue and their blogs are crazy, unorganized and don’t make alot of sense-nobody would be interested in most of them- so i get what you’re saying there.
criminal minds-maybe i’ll have to check it out next season.
i would think a luau would only require a hawaiin shirt or something-maybe they are playing water games outside or something???
i get my long nap in on Sundays-but a nice thrusday nap sounds dreamy-even worth losing a whole pack of bologna!
Have a fun weekend enjoying your new book
i’ll be home a bloggin’

In answer to your #9 question.
You’re wide awake at 10pm, because you had a nap at 2?
No?
Is it because at 10pm, “that which exhausts you” is tucked away in bed and “off your plate” - and it’s finally “you time”? It’s all about motivation, baby.
Or you’re a night owl, but your kids schedules require you to be up at god-awful hours and by 2pm you’re wiped out?
Are any of these good answers?
BTW - LOVE seeing you on Twitter.

I’m so glad you like Traceless. I’m especially glad that someone actually read my QBBQ and tried something. That is miraculous.
Have a terrific time on your long weekend.
And three extra kids tonight? Yikes. Triple yikes, in fact.

Great post, I have a blogroll, but it’s one of those dropdown things, and hardly there. If your looking for another good book, I just finished “The Art of Racing in the Rain”. It was fabulous.

Hope you have a good one too girl.
So with you on the need for a nap, yet wide awake as soon as nighttime hits. Even with out the nap. Cause I have tried skipping a nap and swear I’ll go “to bed early”, but it never ever happens…

New make-up that you love is always headline news. You might want to move that one up to #1.
As for Twitter–I would love to hear some convincing arguments that it JUST ROCKS. Seems like even more time on your computer? Is it an accountability system when I reach for the 5th bite of cookie dough?
We are hosting sleepovers tonight, too. Good times. (in theory)
Have a great long weekend!!!!

Well, I sure hope the other kids had on their swimsuits today as well! Hope the weather was warm enough!
And the #9, LOVED it!
Can’t wait to hear about the sleepover tonight. Maybe you will need another nap tomorrow!

I was reading along just fine until I got to #7.
After that my heart started racing and palpatating.
I had to go outside and get a breath of fresh air.
Seriously? Three extra friends?
Yup, there go the palpatations again!
Have a great weekend…and hope you survive tonight.

Hey Lisa…hope your weekend’s going well. Seeing as how busy I’ve been this week, I am truly grateful that you did NOT write a post on Thursday. My google reader is already groaning…
Hope you survived Friday’s multi playdates.

Lisa, hope you have a great long weekend too. Good for you on the reading! I started a book club this past week. I belong to one with the Queen B and thought it might be fun to have one with girls that are empty nest like me….So I will now be reading 2 books a month for sure. Let me know if you come across one you would recommend.

Hey Lisa, I agree with you 100% on #1. Wow, I could have written that. I do enjoy my blogroll. My blog is my new TV and it’s very entertaining for me to just go down my blogroll while I listen to the music on my blog. I swear if we got rid of the TV, the only channel I’d miss is Bravo. I can’t wait for the new Sheer Genius 2. Hope you have a great weekend, too! Hugs!

You wear foundation EVERY day? I am impressed! Have not had a Prescriptives foundation in years - but must look out for that one.
Blogrolls - I like to look at other peoples because I am nosy like that! Even if I don’t want to add them to my own, I like to make sure I am not missing anything!!
A swimsuit - all day? That is just crazy! And I want to know are all the teachers just wearing swimsuits all day too?
